Edward Kling
Ed Kling became the owner and president of our firm in 2005. His professional qualifications include the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. A member of our company since 1994, Ed’s extensive experience in appraisal is founded in a specialized formal education. He came to the firm with a B.A. in Marketing from North Central College and a B.S. in Urban Planning from Elmhurst College. He has also done post-graduate studies in Architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Ed’s more than fifteen years of experience in the appraisal field has covered a tremendous body of work over a variety of property types, from commercial, residential and industrial to multi-family and special-use properties. Ed also has a special expertise in airport appraisal and hangar development. He has used these specialized skills to assist in the ongoing hangar development projects at DeKalb Airport. Additionally, Ed brings a special appraisal focus to development investing.
Ed’s in-depth knowledge of property valuation has earned him the trust of local assessors, where he has done both appraisal and mass appraisal for a number of townships, including York, Milton, Geneva, Joliet and Grafton, as well as Will County and many others.
Ed’s experience and knowledge have also made him a much sought-after expert witness in a range of real estate and valuation related cases and actions, and he offers his services for litigation support on a regular basis.
Ed believes that his professional success rests on the trust he has gained from the community by providing expert work on a timely basis. He gives back to the community through his volunteer work and his support of historic building renovation and restoration.
Neil Steffens
Neil Steffens has been involved in real estate appraisal for over 25 years. His professional qualifications include the MAI and SRA designations from the Appraisal Institute. Neil is also an Illinois Certified General Appraiser and an experienced classroom instructor. In 1983, Neil established the business that has become Real Valuation Group, LLC. Prior to that he worked as an appraiser, review appraiser, and negotiator for the Land Acquisition Bureau of the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). Later, he accepted a position with Price & Associates in its Chicago Loop offices. Neils experience encompasses a wide range of different property types, including single-family residential, multi-family, industrial, commercial, vacant land, and farmland. Neil is also experienced with valuations in litigation proceedings. He has been qualified and has testified as an expert witness in courts in Cook, Kane, Will, DuPage, and Lake counties. One of Neils special areas of expertise is the appraisal of partial acquisitions. Examples of this type of appraisal work include the appraisal of an additional right of way needed for a road widening and/or the appraisal of permanent and temporary easements. Neil has been retained both by condemning agencies and individual property owners. Neils vision, knowledge, and expertise created our firm over 21 years ago. Today, he continues to guide, direct, and shape the present and future of our company.
Don Dinapoli
Certified general appraiser with multiple years of experience on large commercial and industrial appraisals. Expertise in subdivision analysis and multi-tenant retail developments.
Scott Kling
Certified general appraiser with multiple years of experience in all Chicagoland counties. Expertise in vacant land appraisals and subdivision analysis.
Dave Rogers
Certified general appraiser and office manager. Handles day to day business operations and appraises commercial real estate. Focus on industrial and retail businesses. Multiple years of experience running businesses. Former President of Greater O’Hare Association.
Jenny Kleckner
Certified general appraiser with focus on commercial properties. Expertise in mixed-use and multi-family buildings in Chicago.
Pete Helland
Joined company in August 2005. Pete is an Associate Real Estate Appraiser in the commercial division with experience in retail, industrial, office, multifamily residential, and special use properties. As a graduate of Purdue University in finance, he provides additional expertise for income producing properties, going concern interests, and golf course appraisals. Experience in appraising commercial properties throughout the state of Illinois extending to St. Louis and the Quad Cities as well as work in Wisconsin and Indiana.
Roxanna Ferris
Joined the firm in January 2005. Certified general appraiser with experience in land appraisal as well as industrial, retail and office condominium developments, with expertise in the Kane and DuPage County condominium markets.
Gail Wills
Certified general appraiser with multiple years of appraisal experience as well as commercial lending work. Gail joined the staff in the summer of 2007 and provides expertise in the lending profession as well as detailed experience in all commercial properties. She currently heads the DeKalb branch of Real Valuation Group, LLC.
Michael Wood
Michael is an Associate Real Estate Appraiser that joined our staff inJuly 2006. He has experience is all commercial appraisal fieldsand specializes in theGreater DeKalb market area. Mike provides commercial appraisal support at our DeKalb branch.
Michael Lysien
Mike is an associate real estate appraiser that joined our staff in September 2007. He is a recent graduate of Northern Illinois University with a degree in Economics. Mike provides experience in market analysis with a growing knowledge of commercial real estate.
Carl Presley
Certified residential appraiser with focus on residential properties. Experience in multi-family and single family residences. Carl has experience throughout the Chicagoland market, collar counties, and extended suburban areas.
Ed Pavlica
Ed currently heads our residential department. He is a certified residential appraiser with multiple years of experience. Expertise in relocations and refinances.

Jackie Casiello
Joined staff in April 2005 as a real estate reporting assistant. Handles word processing, data collection, and report building on a daily basis.
Angela Palazzetti
Angie is a recent graduate of Northern Illinois University that is completing course work at the Chicago Chapter of the Appraisal Institute for associate licensure. She currently collects data, confirms sales, and builds reports in the commercial division.
